Transforming Africa Through Strategic Infrastructure

Africa stands at a defining moment in its history, a moment to unlock its full potential through robust, future-proof infrastructure. The African Diaspora United Kingdom (ADUK) is proud to launch the African Infrastructure & Vision 2060 Initiative,  a bold, multi-sector programme designed to accelerate sustainable development across the continent by 2060.

Driven by collaboration between African governments, diaspora expertise, private investors, civil society and international partners, this initiative places infrastructure at the heart of Africa’s vision for inclusive growth, economic transformation and technological advancement.

Why Infrastructure Matters for Africa

Infrastructure is the backbone of sustainable development.

It underpins economies by:

  • Connecting communities through roads, bridges, rail, air and sea networks.

  • Powering growth through clean, reliable and affordable energy.

  • Enabling digital futures through broadband, data centres and communications networks.

  • Improving quality of life with access to water, sanitation, schools and hospitals.

  • Strengthening trade competitiveness and access to global markets.

Despite significant progress in recent decades, Africa still faces a large infrastructure gap that limits productivity, investment and wealth creation.

ADUK’s Vision 2060 seeks to address these challenges systematically and sustainably.
